I have been developing websites on a freelance basis for nearly ten years. Oddly enough, I haven't needed a portfolio until now, when I am looking for full time work. These 'sites represent only a small portion of those I have contributed to, as I often subcontract to small design companies in a technical troubleshooting role, under terms which include a degree of confidentiality.

I have focused here on hand coded standards compliant xhtml with css 'sites. Typically a combination of javascript and php provide some elements of interactivity. Clear simple markup is essential to an accessible or even semantic web.

Current live sites

These are just a couple of small sites which I am still hosting and maintaining. I have handed off all my larger projects, with a view to starting afresh as part of a larger team.
  • Weald of Kent Rotary is a local charity for whom I maintain a site on a pro bono basis. It is all hand-written xhtml and css.
  • Enitack is a little business card site I made for a friend, incorporating a php rss display of Ebay auctions.

Archived website code

Here are a couple of sites which I have hand-written in the past few years, xhtml with a little javascript and flash.

Past projects

I have also written templates for the Actinic ecommerce desktop application, and for database driven sites using asp and php.

  • Dulcieangel is also a successful Actinic site which I developed from scratch, maintained for years, and extensively optimised for search engines. Valid code is unfortunately impossible in Actinic driven sites.
  • UKSearchDirect was the first asp project I was involved in. I wrote the front end, as part of a long and fruitful relationship with Emily May Productions.
  • Since I parted ways with this company much of my work has been superseded, but I would like to mention an Active Server intranet which I set up for Cam-Tech Security, replacing their in-house NT Server with a hosted 2003 Server supplied by Fasthosts. This significantly improved connectivity for their roving technicians.
